Our mission statement is 'everyone’s sustainable energy'. In a sustainable world, everyone is a participant. As part of our social engagement, we support vulnerable groups in society. Which is why Eneco also helps in other ways. Particularly now. Read here what we do.

Zowiezon's 50th solar roof celebrated
The 50th Zowiezon solar roof was festively put into use at SWS de Stroming in Middelburg. There was a party dance by preschoolers on the square and two upper school classes followed an energy lesson given by our colleague. The students also entered into a conversation with Henk Zielstra (Chairman of the Board of Archipelscholen Foundation), Brigitte Vos (Eneco) and Niels Van Der Sandt (Director of the Foundation Schooldakrevolutie, literally School Roof Revolution Foundation) about solar panels and sustainable energy.
This animation contains interesting facts about what Zowiezon has achieved so far.
Stichting Schooldakrevolutie has been offering free and independent advice and guidance to school boards in the Netherlands for years. In Zowiezon, Eneco and Schooldakrevolutie have been working together since March 2021 to unburden schools in primary and secondary education in making them more sustainable.

Cleaning action with impact
Eneco Clean Beach Cup '23
Cleaning the beaches is of great importance as our oceans are rapidly turning into a huge plastic soup. Plastic pollution has disastrous consequences for the health and biodiversity of beaches and oceans. A relatively invisible but dire consequence of plastic pollution what starts on our beaches.

Eneco Clean-Up Walk
In order to leave a habitable planet to our children and the generations thereafter, we must treat the Earth in a sustainable manner and live within its natural limits. The amount of litter in our living environment continues to increase. Eneco is tackling this issue together with the national hiking organisation KWBN. The aim of the Eneco Clean-Up Walk on 21 and 22 October 2023 is to make the hiking trails and the area around the trails litter free.

Eneco supports UNICEF Covid campaign
UNICEF is committed to the distribution of Covid-19 vaccines across the globe. Eneco supports UNICEF’s Covid campaign by means of a donation, because while we are in the process of administering the third (booster) dose, many people at locations across the world have not even received a first dose yet.
Eneco’s donation enables UNICEF to carry out the preparations that are necessary to administer a vaccine to around 17,500 people. UNICEF’s activities also include providing support for information campaigns, providing protective clothing and oxygen supplies, and purchasing ultra-cold vaccine transportation containers.
Fair distribution of Covid-19 vaccines across the world will give children room to grow again. UNICEF started this global campaign at the beginning of 2021. Eneco is glad to be of help.

Eneco supports research into the influence of the coronavirus on children
The aim of the research is to gain more knowledge about how often the coronavirus occurs among children, how it spreads within the family and what possible risks there are, such as overweight and asthma. This will enable the researchers to find ways to improve protection of vulnerable children and their families against the virus.
