Everyone's sustainable energy
Everyone’s sustainable energy, that is our mission. To make that happen, we spend every day working on projects to increase the sustainable energy supply. We do not achieve this alone; we connect with partners who have made a conscious choice for sustainability. Achieving climate-neutral business operations has become the standard for companies such as Google, KPN, Unilever and the NS. By joining forces, we can create a win-win situation.
Largest offshore wind farm in Belgium
In Mitsubishi Corporation, we have found a partner who is also entirely dedicated to sustainability. Mitsubishi is co-owner of the Eneco Luchterduinen wind farm. We are continuing our long-term relationship with the development of Norther, which will be the largest wind farm off the shores of Belgium. The maximum total production capacity of the farm will be 370 MW, which is equal to the annual consumption of close to 400,000 households. Norther is expected to be operational by 2019.
But there is more. Apart from wind power, we are also investing in solar power and biomass fuel. For example, the Bio Golden Raand sustainable power plant in Delfzijl generates sustainable steam and electricity for AkzoNobel, and we worked with Honda to develop the Sevor Farm solar farm on their grounds in the United Kingdom. These are some examples of sustainable partnerships that show that the corporate world is ready for a new economy, new business models, and new jobs. Green prosperity is becoming the new standard, and by working together, we will be able to achieve ‘everyone’s sustainable energy’.
